pp.10-11 Discussion, extracted from an unnamed newspaper, about a Pakeha belief that Maori are unable to acquire the habits of European society because of their reputation for laziness, slovenly dress, distasteful dietary habits and dissent. Suggests that Christian teachings and practices like those taught by the Romans to the people of England will bring salvation.
