Report of a meeting at Maketū addressed by Rewi [Maniapoto] who advised that peace cannot be possible until confiscated lands are returned, and criticised Te Arawa tribal groups for not supporting the King movement.
Refers to reply given by Henry Pukuatua who answered in support of Ngāti Maru at Ōhinemutu, and to Rewi's request that Te Arawa stop building large carved houses as these were expensive to construct and land was being sold to pay for them.
